General Pants Co.: Disrupting the Average through Flexible Data Handling
General Pants Co. may have been in business for close to 50 years, growing from a single store in Sydney to a major style authority that caters to the rest of Australia, but they know how to disrupt the average And they are doing so not just via global trends that inspire young-blooded individuals but also through out-of-the-box solutions that help them increase their customer’s lifetime value.
Even with a digital marketing strategy in place, the Australian fashion retail giant soon realised that their old system and platform was restricting. They needed to improve the way they collate, organise, and, process customer data to ensure that they send out messages personalised to customer behaviour.
Enter Marketing Cloud.
General Pants Co. partnered with Salesforce and AFDigital to gain clearer visibility on customer experiences. This then allowed the brand to curate a basic email journey with messages aligned to customer behaviour.
They took things a step further and addressed perhaps one of the most overlooked but important e-marketing statistics: cart abandonment. By activating an ‘Abandoned Cart’ journey, the respected Australian retail company demonstrated their understanding of their target market (the youth do 60% of their shopping online) and of the effect of cart abandonment on their business (abandonment costs e-marketers around 2 to 4 trillion a year).
The May AFDigital newsletter talks more about cart abandonment numbers, how a simple email journey closes the gap on conversion, and how a simple solution leads to big rewards for the Australian fashion retailer.

Lastly, we’re giving back this coming Philippine school year. There are over 23M Filipino public school students and sadly, they are faced with major problems such as lack of classrooms, teachers, learning supplies, and updated books. And because learning is very important to AFDigital, we’ve started a school supplies drive — and we’re extending this opportunity to you. Help us inspire more kids with a donation that we will use to get start-up school supplies to be distributed when they start school by June.
Thank you in advance for your kind donation and we are looking forward to sharing with you stories of this activity.
